See the world from your child’s eyes

Watching your children discover the world, grow and develop is a joy. But have you ever wonder how the world looks like from their eyes? We have one very important tip to share with you, that you can use yourself and easily pass on to fellow child carers: Get down low and see the world from their eyes.

That’s right, we want you to physically get down to your child’s height and see exactly what they see. Remember the safety check-list we shared one week ago? What to check depending on the age of your child? While you are down on your knees, consider the following:

Can you see any risks?
Can your child reach it?
Can your child touch it?
Can your child ingest it?
Do you see any household cleaning product within the reach of your child?

If you answered yes to any of the above, it may be time to rearrange things in your home to ensure they’re as safe as can be. It’s important to spend a few minutes making household checks for any products that could be hazardous. When it comes to liquid laundry capsules, the rules are simple: keep them out of reach of children.

To help you in your quest for home safety, Fairy Non Bio have created a Child-Lock pack to help keep little ones safe and a handy video, too!

The new Fairy Non Bio Child-lock packs are easy for parents to open but difficult for little ones to unlock. Take a look at this instruction video for more info.

Your task: Share and help.

Share these videos on your Facebook and Twitter accounts with the #ChildSafetyAtHome and #FairyNonBio hashtag and let your friends know to always close the pack of detergents in order to keep little ones safe.

Also, while we have you, there’s an initial survey now live in your home area. Emma and the team are really keen to hear your thoughts on child safety and it’ll only take a couple of minutes.

Toddlers are fearless and just seem to love to investigate everything in sight. Colourful packaging and easy to reach and put into small mouths if you turn your back for a second so everything needs to be out of reach or in a secure child locked cupboard.

I found this a fantastic idea. Small kids love eating everything so it's so important to keep dangerous things away. This child safe box I even found it a bit tricky to open at first. Great job.

I genuinely found the pack difficult to open so, therefore, the instruction video is really good, I would hope if I found it hard no child would find it easy but it still needs to be stored high!

Love that i can hear it click close even if kids distract me. My youngest is fearless and is climbing everything so have had to look at everything in the house again for that danger.

I'm still practicing opening this box, which is a good thing as my toddler can open child lock bottles of medicine and the likes so it needs to be extra safe. Still keep it up high though she'll probably learn to open it better before I do!

Children learn by touch, taste and feel ,there is a lovely feel to the fairy pods I could see whya child would love to play with them but they burst so easily as I experienced,thetamper proof box is brilliant for the pods.

You think your child is safe at home think again so many things can go wrong. Children love to try new things out and love to eat things that look good but cannot be eaten. The child proof box is such a good thing. This one thing less to worry about

One of the biggest things I was taught when studying childcare was to get down on your hands and knees and crawl like a child to see where you can stick fingers (plug sockets), pull cables (on lights, computers tvs), push buttons (remotes) or when walking (cookers and washing machines), turn over lanterns etc., When caring for babies and toddlers it is the only way to childproof your home.
